If my DS 708 had the latest updates at the time the update period expired late in August 2014 and Ford was at version 9 at the time, did it already  have Ford 2014 model year coverage in version 9 by August 2014 and be able for auto scan and be able communicate with a 2014 Ford Flex. With DS connected to it's external power source seem Ford Flex selected manually from a list, model year 2012 is latest , not sure if  the automatic ID goes higher though.
    I normally see older models than 2012 vehicles, and planned to upgrade to a Maxi Sys next year instead of update

DS powered up by external power supply , not hooked to a vehicle , looking at accessible menus the ford coverage V9.00 latest  manually selectable year 2012.   GM V10.0 manually selectable through 2013 model year, Chrysler V7.10    2015 year is selectable (but may be limited)
  Toyota V5.20  2014  manually selectable . Nissan V6.00 menu with model year selection could be determined without vehicle communication.
   Honda V7.0 seemed to have  2014 on a menu.
 I don't know  how much is actually there for  current and 2014 but thankfully I'm not seeing many of these newer cars
